Men’s Soccer Draws With Las Lomas

By Tommy Fellner, Online Sports Editor

The Acalanes Men’s Soccer team, (0-1-3) drew their match with the Las Lomas Knights in their inaugural DFAL (Diablo Foothill Athletic League) 1-1.

Both teams relied on their stout defenses to keep them in  the game and they both were somewhat successful. The first half ended scoreless with very few shots on goal.

In the second the Knights broke the tie and were able to pass the ball through Acalanes defense and put it in the back of the net.

The Dons, not unaccustomed to being in tight situations, remained calm and responded fairly quickly to the Knights’ goal. Sophomore Drew Wondolowski ripped a shot past the keeper to even the score at 1-1.

Acalanes was able to hold on, something that has plagued them so far this season. The Dons are still winless, but their offense is starting to show some life.

The Dons’ next matchup is against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats on Friday where they’ll look to get their first win of the season.
