The Acalanes Women’s Soccer team (4-0) defeated the Dougherty Valley Wildcats Friday night 1-0.
It was a slow pace game with neither teams offense coming to the forefront. Both teams flexed their defense in the first half and the game remained scoreless 45 minutes in.
In the second half it was much of the same story. However, the Lady Dons managed to break through the stout Lady Wildcats defense and net a goal. Sophomore Caroline Clark fed it to senior Katharine Torchio for what turned out to be the game winning goal.
This is Torchio’s second goal in two games for Acalanes.
The women’s next game is Monday against Pinole High School.
