Dons Baseball Rolls By Dublin

By Tommy Fellner

The Acalanes Baseball team (8-6, 3-0 DFAL) is starting to overcome it’s sluggish start, with a huge 8-1 win over Dublin. The Dons relied on their consistent pitching and their offense really stepped up in this game to ensure the victory.

Senior standout Casey Harrington got the start this Tuesday for the Dons and has lived up to they hype throughout the season. This was another great game for Harrington, pitching a complete game and barely missing a shutout.

The Dons’ defense was as stout as ever thanks to Harrington’s prowess on the mound as the team conceded only a single run.

On the offensive side the Dons put up runs regularly, scoring in 5 of the 6 innings. From the get go Acalanes managed a lead thanks to big hits from junior Tom Henderson who got the offense going with a double in the first inning. Henderson continued to have a standout day and finished with three RBIs.

Senior Tommy Nimura and sophomore Harley McKee also added some power from the plate, driving home huge hits throughout the game.

The Dons capped off their explosive offensive evening with a huge 6th inning, driving in their final three runs.

Acalanes travels to San Marin tomorrow for what should be a hotly contested matchup.
