The Acalanes Men’s Lacrosse team (9-4, 6-0 DFAL) extended their perfect record in DFAL, with a less than perfect game. The Dons usually handle the Cougars, but Campolindo put up quite a fight in this matchup, with the Dons winning 7-6.
Campolindo came out inspired and shocked the Dons, who are used to cruising through DFAL games. Down 2-0, Acalanes finally woke up and senior Cole Tanner scored. The Dons backed up their score and tied the game at 2 apiece heading into halftime.
Out of the half, senior Adrian Jeffries found the back of the net to give Acalanes it’s first lead of the game. Campolindo then retaliated to tie up the game.
This back and forth continued until Acalanes managed a two goal, 7-5 lead with 5 minutes left in the game. Campolindo then scored to bring it within one.
Acalanes then stalled for the remaining minutes, but Campolindo found the ball in their possession and went on the offensive attack. Junior defenseman Brian Maiken came up clutch and forced a Campolindo turnover.
Acalanes then ran out the clock and preserved their undefeated record in DFAL play.
The Dons’ next game is Friday against Las Lomas at home.
