The Acalanes Men’s Lacrosse team (22-3), the second seed in NCS faced off in the NCS Quarterfinals against 10 seed Amador Valley this Friday, after the match was postponed due to yesterday’s rain.
The Dons (Amador) were fresh off of an upset win and trying to carry their momentum and upset the Acalanes Dons. They were greeted by a brick wall.
Acalanes smashed Amador Valley, winning each matchup. Amador switched things up on Acalanes by placing their top and third best player in a doubles match against Acalanes’ Nico Brightbill and Conor McGlyn. McGlyn and Brightbill had no problems adjusting to their opponents and defeated them 6-3 6-3.
Kyle Everly defeated his opponent in a singles match, 6-1 6-2. Junior Ryan Cardiff also handily defeated his opponent. But it was junior Ryan Pegels that completely swept his matchup, winning 6-0 6-0.
Acalanes will face Monte Vista tomorrow in the semifinals at 9 in Brentwood. The Dons have already defeated the Mustangs earlier this season and if they advance, they will most likely face Dougherty Valley in the finals, a team they have lost twice to this season.
