// The Acalanes Womens Volleyball team won their home opener against College Park decisively, winning the first three sets.

The Lady Dons returned most of their core group of players from last year and now have a veteran team full of experience and knowledgeable of what it takes to go far in the postseason.

Acalanes came out firing in the first set and immediately took a lead over the Falcons. The Lady Dons got jumpstarted by star players such as junior Parker Jones and senior Mimi White. Acalanes outscored the Falcons 2 to 1 and won the first set 25-11.

In the second set College Park came out with more fire and kept it a close game up until the teens. Acalanes then began to pull away and won the second set almost as decisively, 25-15.

The third set was more of the same with the Lady Dons clearly having all of the momentum. They carried it until the final points and won the final set 25-12.

Sophomore Theresa Nevins and senior Hannah Roberts also played exceptional games for the Lady Dons.

Acalanes’ next game is against Monte Vista at home on September 17th.
