The Acalanes Football team (3-6) dominated Las Lomas 32-10 in a must-win game that helped the team qualify for the NCS Division 3 playoffs.

Acalanes set the tone early. Off of the first play of the game, senior Leo Barakos was handed off the ball and ran over 70 yards for a touchdown. Acalanes never looked back from that point on.

The Dons kept their 6-0 lead until Las Lomas converted a field goal to make it a 3 point game. On the following drive, senior Jake Berry lofted a pass into the endzone and senior Matt Bostwick soared over Las Lomas defenders to reel it in. Senior Ryan Leamy converted the two point conversion to make it 14-3.

Acalanes and Las Lomas each scored once more before half to make it 20-10.

In the second half it was all Acalanes. Senior Nathan Edwards ran for a score and Berry threw for another to give the Dons a comfortable 32-10 lead.

Acalanes’ strong defense held on and limited Las Lomas to zero points in the second half.

This was a huge win for the Dons as it guarantees them a spot in the NCS Division 3 playoffs.

Acalanes next game is Friday against Campolindo.
