Cooking Corner: Zoe Cate’s Pasta

1 cup flour

2 eggs

Makes 3/4 lb pasta

Step 1

Spread out the flour and shape it into a mound.

Step 2

Crack 2 eggs into the center of the mound. Then, beat the eggs until the eggs and flour come together as one mixture. Pro tip – don’t be afraid to use your hands to mix the eggs and flour together. After washing and drying your hands, try pressing your thumb into the middle. If your thumb comes out dry, you’re ready to move onto the next step.

Step 3

Knead the dough for around 8 minutes or until it is smooth.

Step 4

Use a pasta machine to cut the dough thinly.

If you don’t have a pasta machine, you can use a rolling pin instead. Sprinkle some flour on the dough and roll it between two pieces of parchment paper to ensure the dough doesn’t stick. Then, cut the dough into thin slices.

Step 5

Boil some water and place the pasta in the water until the pasta is done cooking.

Step 6

Afterward, top the pasta with your favorite sauce and enjoy!
