Ingredients

1 egg

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp matcha powder

Milk or a substitute

. .

Makes 1 to 2 servings

. .

Directions

Step 1

Crack the egg and place only the egg whites into a bowl. Pro tip – use the two egg shell halves to separate the yolk and egg whites. You can also use your hands instead of using the egg shell halves!

Step 2

Mix the egg whites until it is frothy and nearly stiff. Pro tip – keep mixing the egg whites until you can form stiff peaks with the egg whites.

Step 3

Add 1 tbsp of sugar to the egg whites and continue mixing until all of the sugar is integrated into the egg whites.

Step 4

Add 1 tsp of matcha powder to the egg whites. Keep mixing until the matcha powder is evenly blended with the egg whites. The mixture should be a light green.

Step 5

Add some ice cubes and milk to a cup. Pro tip – use a glass cup to showcase the different colors of the drink when you’re done.

Step 6

Carefully place the whipped matcha on top of the milk, put in a straw, and you’re good to go! Pro tip – if the cup looks a bit messy after placing the whipped matcha at the top, don’t be afraid to wipe the sides of the cup with a paper towel. Also, don’t be afraid to add toppings on top!
