// In honor of George Floyd and other people of color who were killed by police, many Lafayette community members participated in a peaceful protest on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.
The protestors met at Lafayette Park Plaza and listened to local public speakers give speeches on the grass. Afterwards, protestors stood in silence for 8 minutes and 43 seconds while the Lafayette Methodist Church bell rang in honor of Floyd. The protestors then marched from the Plaza along Mt. Diablo Blvd. to the Lafayette Police Station.
