10 Activities To Do Over Winter Break

// Looking for something to do this winter break? Look no further, because here are ten fun winter activities to try out this holiday season!

  1. Bundle up with hot cocoa and watch a holiday movie!

   Gather all your friends and have a movie night! What is better than to gather with those you love, drinking hot cocoa all bundled up in cozy blankets, and watching a nostalgic and fun holiday movie. See Blueprint’s Issue four for some recommendations!

  1. Gingerbread House Competition!

Get your friends and family in the holiday spirit by hosting a gingerbread house competition! It may get messy; however some friendly competition is always enjoyable. 

  1. Bake holiday treats!

A fun activity solo, with family, or with friends, baking is something everyone of all ages can do. Whether an advanced baker, or a first timer – there is a recipe for everyone.   1. Go skiing or snowboarding!

   This holiday break, head up the mountains to enter a winter wonderland of snow and fun! With being so close to Tahoe and ski resorts, it would be hard to miss the opportunity to have fun skiing or snowboarding with family and friends. 

  1. Volunteer for a Local Organization!

Give back to the community by volunteering at the Food Bank of Contra Costa or cleaning local parks. Even a few hours of your time can make a difference for these organizations and our community!

  1. Try a new restaurant!

How many times have you mentioned that new restaurant downtown? Well, now is your opportunity to try it. Spend the evening with your friends or family, socializing and trying new foods.

  1. Go ice skating at the San Francisco or Walnut Creek ice rink!

Ice skating is an activity that defines the winter season, and is also loads of fun. Buy or rent a pair of skates and get on the ice for an unforgettable winter experience.

  1. Paint your nails/get a manicure!

Ever wanted a fun, unique project? Nails are a great form of expression and creativity booster! With so many colors and unlimited designs, the possibilities are limitless. While it may start out difficult, it is a fun hobby to develop, practice, and improve over time.

  1. Read a book!

   Want to have a nice peaceful afternoon? Head over to a local cafe like Tellus Coffee or Papillon to enjoy a warm cup of coffee, tea, or a sweet pastry.
