We visited stores in downtown Lafayette to taste what holiday treats they had to offer. Read our reviews below!

La Chataigne - bakery

During the holiday season, the store offers a holiday box with a variety of Italian butter cookies.

The Italian butter cookie with pistachios and melted dark chocolate was flaky and crispy. The cookie itself had a salty aftertaste from the crust of the cookie while the flavor of the pistachios complimented out the richness of the chocolate.

The dipped Italian cookie was very crispy and light. The dipped chocolate end had a nice flavor which was especially better with the almonds and nuts that were on top. For those who like a light and crispy yet satisfying snack, this cookie would be ideal.

Papillon - cafe

The eggnog latte had a robust coffee taste but was nicely balanced out with sweet cookies. Due to the thickness of the eggnog, the latte was rather thick and creamy and overall felt similar to a dessert because of its sweet ingredients.

Zoonies - candy store

The gummies had a very traditional flavor as per gelatin candies. However, the unique shape of the gummies made the experience more enjoyable as the gummies emulated conventional Christmas characters.

The chocolate bar overall had a very delicious, sweet taste but had a very mellow chocolate flavor which tasted similar to a crunch bar. The holiday lights around the chocolate bar and the phrase “Christmas Vacation” in the middle of the bar added holiday sentiment.
